L'Avion Jaune presents the latest-generation VTOL, the Trinity Pro

The Trinity Pro, the new generation of fixed-wing eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft specially designed for mapping.

L'Avion Jaune, official Trinity Pro distributor in France and Africa

L'Avion Jaune is a French company founded in 2005 and a pioneer in the use of drones and light aircraft for aerial mapping missions. Initially dedicated to the development of UAVs, we are now focusing on what is our added value: aerial mapping services and the development of instrumented nacelles.

We use a variety of technologies, including photogrammetry, multispectral imaging, thermography and LiDAR. For the latter, we use products from our sister company YellowScan.

L'Avion Jaune has its own in-house fleet: an ultra-light aircraft, a dozen drones of different types (multi-rotor and fixed-wing) and a wide range of sensors, giving us great flexibility when it comes to meeting the varied and demanding needs of our customers.

For the same reasons, our fields of application are many and varied: the environment (species counting and identification, etc.), agriculture and forestry (vigor mapping, etc.), risk zone management (cliff falls, coastal erosion, etc.), infrastructure monitoring (quarries, mines, roads, power lines, etc.) and so on.

We have also developed a partnership with German drone manufacturer Quantum System, for whom we are a reseller of Trinity and Trinity Pro drones. This approach stemmed from a real need we had identified in the field, for which there was no economically viable solution: surveying large areas where mobilizing aircraft was uneconomical and multi-rotor solutions technically insufficient. The Trinity combines the range advantages of fixed-wing UAVs with the practicality of multi-rotor UAVs: vertical take-off and landing.

For these reasons, as an operator, we regularly involve this drone in our aerial mapping services, particularly those carried out abroad. We also appreciate the ease with which it can be carried in the hold, and the ease with which the batteries can be tracked.

At UAV Show 2023, we'll be presenting the latest innovation from German drone manufacturer Quantum System: the Trinity Pro.

The Trinity Pro, a VTOL drone for the future

The Trinity Pro is the new generation of fixed-wing eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) UAVs specially designed for mapping. The Trinity Pro builds on the advances in safety and reliability achieved by previous generations, and takes its development a step further with the integration of a new autopilot: the Quantum-Skynode. The new autopilot features advanced flight functions and articifial intelligence. It is accompanied by its mission planning software: QBase 3D, offering the possibility of creating up to 300 waypoints, terrain tracking, wind simulation and much more. To meet the most demanding professional needs, a range of 6 high-end "plug and play" sensors is offered with Trinity Pro.

With an autonomy of 90 minutes, wind resistance of up to 65km/h and the ability to cover no less than 700Ha per flight, the Trinity Pro is especially suited to large-area surveys in complex environments.

New features on the Trinity Pro include the new Quantum-Skynode autopilot and the Linux mission computer, reducing processing times and providing faster, more appropriate responses in the field. Other enhancements include greater internal storage capacity and improved on-board connectivity and security. It is also now possible to take off and land in different locations, giving users greater room for manoeuvre when surveying.

The Trinity Pro comes with a range of 6 "plug and play" sensors from different manufacturers, specially integrated for on-board use. Quantum System has chosen the best sensors on the market, offering the following imaging technologies: RGB, oblique, multispectral and LiDAR. They are easily interchangeable thanks to the quick lock mechanism developed by Quantum System.

  • Qube 240: Lidar scanner capable of generating highly accurate point clouds thanks to its 240,000 measurement points per second.
  • Micasense Altum-PT: the most advanced sensor in the Micasense range, and one of the best multispectral sensors on the market. It combines 3 types of imaging: RGB, Multispectral and Thermal. It is specially adapted to the most demanding research work.
  • Micasense RedEdge-P: a sensor combining both RGB optics and a multispectral block comprising 5 spectral bands in separate optics. Its RGB sensor is a panchromatic band enabling finer output resolutions.
  • The Sony RX1 RII: a 42.4 MP full-frame RGB camera specially designed for photogrammetry.
  • The Oblique D2M: an oblique imaging system comprising 5 high-resolution multidirectional cameras, ideal for large-scale 3D photogrammetry.

As an operator of the Trinity for many years, and with missions in every corner of the globe, L'Avion Jaune recognizes a platform with proven reliability that's always ready to fly.

Our presence at UAV Show 2023 will be an opportunity to share with you our experience of this multi-capable drone.
